- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 bell pepper, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, adjust to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 2 green onions, chopped for garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
Follow the directions on the package to cook the pasta until it is al dente
Remove the water and set it aside
Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-low heat
Break up the ground beef and pork with a spoon as you add it
Cook until it turns brown and is no longer pink
Cut up the onion, bell pepper, celery, and garlic and add them to the pan
For about 5 to 7 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft, cook
Add the dried oregano, thyme, and cayenne pepper if using, salt, and pepper, and mix them in
Put in the chicken broth and raise the heat
Simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the flavors blend and the liquid slightly evaporates
Add the cooked pasta to the pan with the meat and vegetables, and then toss everything together
Add two to three more minutes of cooking time until everything is hot
Put it on the table hot, with fresh parsley and chopped green onions on top
