Spicy Paleo Orange Chicken

A tasty, healthful, and paleo-friendly take on orange chicken with a hint of heat. This recipe is flavorful and grain-free, making it ideal for a filling dinner.

Ingredients:

  • 1
  • 5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup arrowroot flour
  • 2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 3 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with arrowroot flour until coated evenly

In a large skillet, heat coconut oil over medium-high heat

Add the coated chicken pieces and cook until they become crispy and browned, about 4-5 minutes per side

Remove from skillet and set aside

In the same skillet, add minced garlic and ginger

Saut for 1-2 minutes until fragrant

Add orange zest, fresh orange juice, coconut aminos, honey, and red pepper flakes to the skillet

Stir and bring to a simmer

Allow the sauce to thicken slightly

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and stir until its well-coated with the orange sauce

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through

Season with salt and pepper to taste

Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds

Serve hot and enjoy your Spicy Paleo Orange Chicken
