Celebrating our favourite guys!!

We celebrated our favourite guys last Sunday, creating a wonderful layout and a Father's Day Card.
Photo Play's This Guy line is perfect for those masculine layouts and cards that we all need to create at some point.

For this layout we used Bazzill cardstock in Brown and Kraft, gears, metal washers, chicken wire and duct tape!! yep, good old duct tape (but not the canvas style, the one that you wrap your pipes and duct work with). Definitely added a manly feel!

For the card we used Deco Foil in gold and silver, using our laminator! such an easy technique and quick!

Ladies are getting down to business!

Val was our draw winner!! Congrats

Our finished products!! everyone did an amazing job!

Then the silliness started lol such a great bunch of ladies!

Kathleen had Gary frame her layout of her Father, we are all laughing because usually in a picture we only see the back of Kathleen's head lol but Gary was sure to get the right shot!!

Most Memorable Person Layout Contest

And we have a winner of our Most Memorable Person contest!!
Congratulations Linda on winning our Most Memorable Person contest!!

Linda chose her Dad as her most memorable person, she feels who she is today was because of him and she is his "mini-me".
Steve was a police officer in Toronto, this picture is circa 1970's. He worked in the property office dealing with court evidence.
There are many little pieces of embellishments on this layout that reflect who he was such as the dominoes, they would play euchre in the station with dominoes
because cards were not allowed. Linda picked the double 5 domino because his station number was the 55 Division.

Linda says " Dad is my true mentor and idol, she is his clone in every sense of the word only in a female version". The key reflects on her Dad's handcuff key which she to this day has on her car keychain!
Thank you Linda for all the info on your Dad and for sharing this beautiful layout with all of us!!

Linda used many products on her layout such as:

Heartfelt Creations: Everyday Heroes paper pad
Bazzill Basics Paper: Blackbird
Tim Holtz: Flashcards, Ground Espresso Distress Ink, metal word bands, keys and coin.
Silhouette Cameo: word "Remember" and honeycomb background
Misc: burlap ribbon, twine and brads.

Time Machine Paper Bag Album

I was lucky enough to spend last Sunday with a wonderful group of talented ladies as we created this beautiful paper bag album featuring Kaisercraft's Time Machine.

Each page was filled with coordinating papers and Bazzill's Aqua and Brown cardstock I used the Silhouette Cameo to cut the gears and the page inserts.

Looking forward to the next class!!

Jingle all the way workshop

On November 29th we all got into the holiday spirit while we were working on these adorable Jingle all the way blocks! Featuring: Echo Park's "The Story of Christmas".

Gary hand cut and sanded all the sets of 7 blocks!! he is such a good man!! in total we sold over 60+ kits!! that's a lot of cutting!! and many evenings out in the wood shed shivering!

But so worth the effort!!

We also created a beautiful twisted easel card

The beauty of this card is that instead of using the patterned paper on the front flap, I had suggested that a family photo could be used, what a great gift for the grandparents or a loved one!!

It was a very busy day, 29 ladies all ready to get festive!! learn a few new tricks and have a bunch of fun!!
