Happy New Year everyone!!! 2015 is going to be an incredible year!!
There are so many plans in the works for this coming year! classes, crops and workshops. I will be having more classes in the shop, and more workshop where very talented ladies will inspire us with both their knowledge and creations.
I am so thrilled to announce that Vicki Boutin will be back!! YEP!! freak’n out a little with anticipation lol
Simple Stories has a new line coming out “I am” and this will be the line that Vicki will be working with, no date yet but it is going to happen! stay tuned…..
Here at the shop, we are anxiously waiting for the new lines and products to appear! have to fill these shelves with new awesomeness! Out with Christmas and in with all the newest lines out.
This month I will be a vendor at the Timothy Christen Scrap day event on January 24th, so honoured to have been asked to attend, and you know I’m going to bring everything I can! lol please note that the shop will be closed that day.
On a personal note; I have recently been diagnosed with cancer and will have my surgery on January 14th. Please bear with me as I get through this and know that having the shop closed for anytime is very painful for me, I hate to let you ladies down. But I have to kick it’s butt and get healthy so I can plan events and be here for you all with all the goodies you want and need.
I received a beautiful card from Kathy Dufton, this certainly did brighten my day…thank you Kathy for thinking of me.

November started off with another amazing workshop filled with Christmas Cheer!!
We had a day filled with learning, crafting and of course laughing. Thanks to Carin and Suzanne for making our workshop awesome. These ladies have so much knowledge and experience that they were sharing with all 30 of us! it was a full house!
Carin is a Certified Copic Instructor, she taught a beginner’s class using the Spectrum Noir and Copic pens. We created a beautiful card with a gorgeous poinsettia that we were taught to colour, featuring Kaisercraft Mistletoe line.
Suzanne then came in and introduced us to some amazing products and techniques, which included the Silhouette Cameo. We learned how to use the heat transfer vinyl on a wine bag, also to use our image from the Silhouette to create a very cute little onesie with a red bird on it using fabric paint. We also were introduced to the Wow melting powder, and I must say WOW!! this product is unbelievable. We created a resin like embellishment just by heating the product and adding embossing powder. And lastly, using a hot glue gun to create really cool embellishment! hot glue gun?? ……… who knew! very cool!
Then our day finished off with a workshop taught by myself, we created 3 beautiful cards and a set of 5 Cedar blocks. 2 of the cards were created using the Silhouette Cameo and the Cedar blocks were hand cut by my super, amazing husband Gary. These were created using the My Mind’s Eye Sleigh Bells Ring line, simply stunning.
So excited to teach our next class at the end of November……

Wow what an amazing day! Having Vicki here to teach us a full day of workshops was utterly amazing!
We started the day with a lot of laughs and getting to know one another, and then the fun began! Our first class was the Simple Stories Cozy Christmas Snap album, this little album had 75 pages! yes, I said 75 pages! filled with tons of little pockets, tags, and textures.
We started on the front of the album using the Tim Holtz distress stains, distress paints and texture medium.
The inside has so many cute pockets and spaces for pictures and hand written notes to your loved ones. Did I mention there was 75 pages? lol incredible little album
These photo’s are courtesy of Vicki Boutin
The afternoon class focused on Tim Holtz products, which included distress stains, paints, inks and texture paste. There were so many new techniques taught to us, I personally am so inspired to try the new products and getting messy!
The front cover is filled with a ton of new techniques and mediums such as texture paste and rock candy crackle paint.
The butterfly steals the show with it’s beauty! we inked it, we crackled it and then we added some shiny distress glitter in gold. When it was dry it was stunning, trust me it’s looks even more beautiful in real life.
The inside of the cover is inked to highlight the green leaves, the birds are a die cut and then sanded using Tim Holtz Kraft Core cardstock. We used rubons, mini distress inks and added the tissue leaf with a pretty stick pin.
We completed the Tim Holtz small Configurations book, that was filled with little compartments that held a variety of cool products. There were glass domes, metal pen tips, metal tags, mirrored sheets for the Eiffel Tower, masks, buttons, spools, corks and a bunch of beautiful metal arrows.
The pictures above is my interpretation of Vicki’s beautiful work!
We are so thankful that Vicki was able to fit us into her hectic schedule and we look forward to the next 2 day workshop in the Spring 2015!!!!
